Media Assistants
At East the Library Media course teaches students about a media center's day-to-day business. Students help the Media Center Coordinator with daily tasks such as reshelving books, making copies, laminating and helping to keep the media center neat, clean and organized.
Media assistants are also required to read five books and to do book reviews on each of them. The book reviews contain the Lexile levels for each book and a short summary of the book. Click on the link below for a list of the book reviews that have been compiled to date.
Book Check Out
To check out a book, take the book you want to check out to Ms. Farrelly, or student media assistant. When checking out books you are limited to having two books checked out at any given time. You also have two weeks to keep the book checked-out. If you need to keep a book for more than two weeks you can stop by the media center and have the book renewed.Book Return
To return your book just drop it in the drop box by the door next to the media center. If you would like to check out another book then you can bring the book you would like to check-out along with the book you would like to check-in to the circulation desk.
